Break the Chains
Sometimes the
chains that prevent us from being free are more mental than physical. It is
ultimately up to you to break the chains that prevent you from living your
life. It may take a while for your chains to break, but when you are ready for
the chains to be released…you will fly. After a while you begin to love your
problems. You fear recovery. When you have struggled for so long, you don’t
remember life without your inner demons. You don’t remember what life is like
without struggle. You don’t want to remember. Because without them, who are
you? But I will break these chains that bind me. I will find happiness. I will
leave the past behind me. My chains will be gone and I will be set free… I just
have to break the chain one link at a time.
Break the Chains
Just when you’ve had enough, life gives you more.
Just when you think it’s rained enough, it starts to pour.
You put on a fake smile to hide all your pain
No sun in sight, strangled in chains
Only to realize we must be hurt in order to grow
We must fail in life in order to know.
Some lessons in life are best learned through pain.
But I’ve had enough; it’s time to break the chains.
