Why spending more than 4 years in college was the best thing for me

I started college in the Fall of 2010 when Wright State was on quarters. I got straight into the Athletic Training program and just knew I was going to be done in 4 years. I thought I was going to go to school, go to clinicals, take my exams, and leave. For the first 3 years of my college career...Athletic Training WAS my life. I wasn't involved with anything else on campus, only involved in the AT world.

Then I decided to go for an OL minor. I was starting to get more involved on campus and thought this would be perfect for me. Turns out...it was the best decision I could EVER make. That minor turned into a major. AT will always have a special place in my heart. But I know I have made the right choice by changing majors almost a year ago to Organizational Leadership.

If I would have graduated when I would have then I would have never become Vice President of Student Government, working with Raiderthon, working with my college, the Student Alumni Association, and I never would have found my home with AOII. This past year of college has been THE most amazing year in college because I have really found happiness and what I want to do with my life. I have found the most amazing people in my life and I can't even imagine what my life would be like if I would have graduated 2 years ago. But for once, I am glad got "off track." I'm glad I let go of my own plan and I'm deciding to just go with life.

So what it has taken me a little longer for a degree! A little bumps in the road that is college led me to the most amazing people in my life. Now...actual graduation is only around 214 days away!
