Always; A tribute to my little

It may seem like some silly, ridiculous tradition, but big’s are so important to us because they’re so BIG in our lives! Being a charter member in a sorority, you don't really get a Big. I have been blessed with a Twin & then a Triplet...but never a Big. When I joined AOII I knew that I wanted to be a Big. But not just any Big...A Cool Big.

The job of a big is to shower the little with undeserved love, support, wisdom, and generosity. They help you grow and bloom in college. Whether it’s boys, God, clothes, making a schedule, or what classes to take, you go to your big for advice. Why? They just know things.

The most important thing was I didn't want the Big/Little relationship to be forced. I didn't want it to seem unnatural. I didn't want it to seem like, "You're stuck with me forever! You will be my little and you're not going to have any other friends" deal. I wanted to be able to connect with a sister. Someone who I could inspire, but also someone who could inspire me. Luckily, I found that in my little Sarah.

From the day I met this lady I knew we were going to be friends. I will be completely honest...it was weird. It was little at first sight with her. Now, they say people have "Rush Crushes" but this was beyond. She left for the door after the first night I met her and I made a creepy smile and said, "little." During a nickname game she got the nickname lipstick! Of course she was meant to be my little!! The more I got to talk to her roommate, my honorary little Madison, I knew that Sarah was so much like me that it just made perfect sense. But I couldn't say anything because she wasn't an AOII yet. I wasn't even sure if she was going GREEK! Heck, pretty sure the first time I met her I didn't even know if she was at UC or WSU. But everything just...clicked.

During WSU Bid Day, I reallllllly just did not want to let her go when she jumped off the stage and into our chapters arms. Then, I became her Panda Pal and the next thing you know...it was BIG/LITTLE WEEK and she was my LITTLE! (I'm sorry for tricking you so many times. Literally, so many times.)

So in conclusion...a big is a big deal! They’ve gone through what you’ve gone through before and they have a way of leading you in a direction that can never be wrong. And whenever you do need advice, just know that you are never being annoying. Their help is coming from their heart…always.
