Is it too late now to say sorry?

Forgive and forget. Yeah, I get it. One of the many "golden rules" we were told to follow when growing up. But I have a problem with this saying right now. What if you're just... hurt? Maybe I don't want to forgive, but want to forget? What if we treated things...backwards. Well, what if I did?

I forgive a lot. I apologize, a lot. It's my personality. (Go read my other blogs for back info.) But what if I didn't want to forgive? Can I do that? What if sorry doesn't really cut it? What if sorry never will? What if I'm ok with not accepting an apology? Can I do that or does that make me a bitch?

There is great value in mastering the skill of forgiving but not forgetting. Taking good care of ourselves requires regular forgiveness of others. I totally understand the meaning, "forgive and forget." You want to move on for yourself. Do better for yourself. Cleaning out your mind and being ok...for yourself. But I just want my readers to know this. Sometimes you don't need to forgive people. Sometimes you just need to forget and never forgive. Not because of closure...but because you don't need to forgive if you don't want to. And over all...sometimes...it is too late to say sorry.
