Thnks fr th Mmrs

I've learned a lot in 2016 and it is not even over. One thing I learned is that it took me way too long to realize that you shouldn't stay friends with people who never ask how you're doing. I learned that things don't always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And I've learned that there are things that go wrong that don't always get fixed or get put back together the way they were before. I've learned that some broken things stay broken, and I've learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you. Luckily, I think I found them.

Everybody has a home team: It’s the people you call when you get a flat tire or when something terrible happens. It’s the people who, near or far, know everything that’s wrong with you and love you anyways. These are the ones who tell you their secrets, who get themselves a glass of water without asking when they’re at your house. Or ya know..talk about elephant reproductive systems with your mother. These are the people who cry when you cry. These are your people, your middle-of-the-night, laying on the floor, in a parking lot doodling on a car, no-matter-what people.

Friends come and go like waves of the ocean. But the true ones stick, like an octopus on your face. Now, did that just make you laugh? That is who you need to find in life. There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger, and live just a little bit better. Friendship isn't about who you've known the longest. Its about who walked into your life and said, I'm here for you" and they actually proved it. Yes, there are people who you will be able to connect with right off the bat or even talk to once a week or even month. Keep those people close. But notice the people who are happy for your happiness, and sad for your sadness. Those particular people are the ones who deserve special places in your heart. When I count my blessings, I count my Tune Squad twice.

*Of course I am extremely thankful for all of the friends that I have in my life. My work family, Raiderthon Fam, Sorority Sisters, but this one goes out to my Tune Squad. Thnks fr th Mmrs, the memes, the mistakes, the crazy nights, the jenga towers, the "you won'ts", and the constant "oh good lord have mercy" moments. But most importantly, thank you for making staying in college actually worth it. S/O Tune Squad: Victoria (Pretty Lady), Sarah (Little/Smalls), Drew. Dalton (PB Russell), Emma, Gregg (Scotty/Hunter), Eric M (Lil Savage/Drunken Uncle), Eric Sweet, and Zach (Zayonce.)*
