Roaring Twenties

Life in your twenty-somethings can be confusing. Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyways. And by the time you figure life in your twenties out, your 10 years are up. There’s a reason they call it the quarter- life crisis. It’s a decade of growth, lessons, letdowns, breakups, makeups, opportunities, travel, jobs, and unforgettable experiences. For the first time in your life, you’re the boss. So, now what?

The twenties are those awkward years where half of your friends are getting blacked out drunk after waiting tables all night, and the other half is engaged/married with a 9-5 job. It is the constant struggle between wanting to be a mature adult and making something of yourself, yet still craving the binge drinking, sleep-till-whenever life you used to lead.

At the end of this decade that people deem “the prime of your life,” you’ll realize you learned something every step of the way- not everyone is going to like you, your family won’t be around your entire life, smiling more makes you happier, having a few good friends is better than a lot of okay friends, if your mom doesn’t like someone- there’s probably a good reason, not everything you do needs to go on social media, stand up for your beliefs, cereal is not a food group, networking is important, drinking and driving isn’t worth it, you’ll fail…A LOT, and most importantly, you are only in your 20s for ten years.

So here’s to making the most of this decade, stepping out of our comfort zone, and growing as a person. You're only in your twenties for so long. Make mistakes, learn who you are, have fun, cheers!
