KERMIT THE FROG WAS RIGHT

IT IS NOT EASY BEING GREEN!

But not like the frog. To save the planet. I have started the next level of my journey to become a more eco-friendly person. I own a bamboo toothbrush, bamboo hairbrush, glass containers for my meal prepping, reusable water bottle, I shop with cloth bags, and I use a glass straw. Well, I use the straw when I remember that I have it with me. I still eat off styrofoam sometimes, order fast food, and drink out of single use plastic when I order pick up from starbucks.

This past week, I started purchasing products that should help me with my decision to become more eco-conscious. I say eco-conscious, because, well...this is HARD! It is very difficult to carry out a zero waste lifestyle. I'm making decisions to change long term, not just a "scene" in my life. Below are a list of items I've bought in order to try to make better choices.
  • REEL Toilet Paper: Sustainable toilet paper made from bamboo.
  • FLOW Water: Alkaline water. Paperboard pack. Plant-based cap. +68% renewable. 100% recyclable.
  • BITE toothpaste bits: Zero waste toothpaste tablets sent in refillable glass containers
  • Mouthwash tabs: Natural mouthwash you just add to water
  • Cotton Swabs: Made of Bamboo
  • The Last Swab: When I am on the go, I got this to carry in my purse. (Growing up with ear infections has made me super cautious about my ears and they are very sensitive. I have itchy ears ALL the time.)
  • SimplyStraws Utensil Kits:
      • Bamboo Fork
      • Bamboo Knife
      • Bamboo Spoon
      • Bamboo Chopsticks
      • Simply Straws Classic 8" Straight Transparent Straw
      • Simply Straws Classic Brush
      • Utensil Holder with Carabiner
  • Truman's Cleaning Supplies: Non toxic cleaners with reusable bottles.
I know I still have areas to work on. Like my skincare, deodorant, and hair products. But I feel like this is a good place to start and work my way up. I know I will not be perfect, but my overall motto of the blog is, "It's not about perfection; it's about making better choices." I am encouraging everyone to take the plunge and go for it. Something. Make any change big or small and hope for a positive impact. I know I sure do feel better knowing I am in the process of change.

Do you have ways that you can share on having a more eco-friendly lifestyle? Please share!
